News from HWS

News From HWS: This film was created for Body Moves (MDSC140) at Hobart and William Smith Colleges.  Based off of Chantal Akerman’s 1997 film,  News From Home.  I used both personal and found footage of Chester Valley Dance Academy and the Gearan Center for Performing Arts at the Colleges to portray my mixed feelings about my two “homes”. In Chanal Ackerman’s film the sound of transportation, cars, busses, trains are very apparent and iconic of New York City and are heard multiple times throughout the film.  I apply the same concepts with the teenage giggles and chatter.

NACHMO Submission – Houghton Afternoon

Houghton Afternoon: This video was created for my Media and Society Dance on Film Class.  It was submitted for the National Choreography Month Festival.  At Hobart and William Smith, Houghton House is where many of the studio art classes are held.  The architecture is extremely interesting to explore and I wanted to create movement inspired by the surrounding architecture and art.
