Student Application: Program Selection Tool Enhancement
The scope of this design review centers on addressing the user experience challenges presented by the 2022-23 Program Selection form. The form, a critical step in the application process, currently overwhelms users by presenting an excessive amount of information simultaneously, including repeated details and subtle differences between programs that are difficult to discern. The linear design of the form is not conducive to mobile use, despite a significant percentage of users completing the process on desktops. The goal of the redesign is to simplify the information display, making it easier for users to differentiate between program offerings and make informed decisions quickly. This involves optimizing the layout to improve usability, incorporating responsive design for mobile users, and ensuring accessibility. Additionally, the design review emphasizes the importance of visual differentiation, using color and other UI elements to guide users through the selection process without overwhelming them, ultimately enhancing the overall user experience. The scope of this design review centers on addressing the user experience challenges presented by the 2022-23 Program Selection form.
